The town has instituted watering restrictions through Sept. 30. Outside watering is prohibited between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the use of in-ground sprinkler systems is banned at all times. Residents in odd-numbered households can hand-water on odd-numbered calendar days; residents in even-numbered households can do so on even-numbered days. Violators are subject to a $50 fine for the first offense, and a $100 fine for subsequent offenses; repeat offenders are also subject to termination of water service until they are in compliance, as well as a $50 fee for the restoration of service.
