The Planning Board will discuss reintroducing a plan to create a village overlay district near Interstate 495, following the zoning proposal’s defeat at Town Meeting last month, according to Jennifer Atwood Burney, the town planner. Burney said the measure was turned down mainly due to fears that the overlay district would entice big retail stores to open in town; she said the concerns are largely unfounded, based on the size of available lots in the area.
