A 3,600-foot stretch of undersized and unlined water main on Forest Road is slated to be replaced starting mid-summer. Town Administrator Charles Aspinwall said there have been complaints about water quality in the area, and the funding for the $827,455 project will come from a water rate increase that will cost an average of $2.80 per quarterly bill. Periodic detours in the area will be in effect until work is completed in late October, and final paving will commence next spring. The stretch starts where Forest Road intersects Birch Street and continues to the Medfield town line.
