Community farm plans summer activities for children

The Medway Community Farm is offering eight one-week summer sessions to allow children to gain hands-on experience in feeding animals, composting, growing organic vegetables, and other activities. Each week has a theme, including healthy eating, artistic expression, the natural world, and old-time farming; participants will be divided into several age groups, starting with youngsters beginning kindergarten in the fall. The Fun on the Farm program, which opens this week, will run Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon until Aug. 17. The fee is $100 per weekly session, or $75 for siblings or additional weeks. All sessions will be held at the farm at 50 Winthrop St. For more information, visit the nonprofit operation’s website, www.medwaycommunityfarm.org.
