Farmers market is in need of helpers

The Medfield Farmers Market has opened for the season, with the outdoor session held rain or shine from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays on the church green in the center of town, at routes 27 and 109. The opening day last week featured fresh strawberries, meats, bakery items and other goods from vendors such as Langwater Organic Farm in North Easton, Ward's Berry Farm in Sharon, Big Sky Breads of Watertown, Garden Farms of Bellingham, and Wild Daisy Soap of Walpole. As the market’s host, First Parish Unitarian Universalist is looking for volunteers to help keep it going. Volunteers will be needed every Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. through Oct. 11; for details or to sign up, call the church office at 508-359-4594 or e-mail admin@firstparishmedfield.org.
