Selectmen last week approved water and sewer rates that will result in a $6.53 increase on the average quarterly bill. The rates are for the 2013 fiscal year, which starts July 1, and will first show up on August water and sewer bills. Selectmen approved a sewer rate of $4.91 per 100 cubic feet, a 3.4 percent jump from this year. Hudson has a tiered water rate, but the average rate will be $3.13 per 100 cubic feet, up 4.3 percent from this year. The average quarterly water and sewer bills are expected to go from $174.38 to $180.90.
