Carlisle property owners age 60 and older can apply for the town’s program offering seniors a break on their property taxes in exchange for volunteering in town offices, such as the Council on Aging, school district, police and library. Participants can earn a credit of up to $700 toward their taxes by working up to a maximum of 87.5 hours during the fiscal year starting July 1. The program has limited slots, so potential applicants should begin the process by contacting the Council on Aging at 978-371-2895. Assignments will be made in July.
