History at heart of Independence Day celebration

The Lexington Historical Society will celebrate the Fourth of July with a recitation of the Declaration of Independence and a reenactment of the British response. Actors playing the part of Colonial-era figures, including the Rev. Jonas Clarke and British General Thomas Gage, will perform the recitation and response Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Lexington Depot in Depot Square. Colonial singers will also provide entertainment at the free event.
