Sewer work nearly completed

Work on a $2 million waste-water collection and treatment system serving 84 properties in the center of town is expected to be completed by the end of this month, town officials say. After that, the state Department of Environmental Protection will inspect the system. If it passes muster, then it could become operational in October, officials said. The betterment and usage fees to be levied on property owners are still being worked out.
