The Shrewsbury Summer Concert Band celebrates its 60th season Wednesday with a free performance at the bandstand in Dean Park, on Main Street between routes 140 and 20, beginning at 7 p.m. In case of rain, the concert will be shifted inside at Oak Middle School. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. A second concert is planned for July 25, also at Dean Park. The concerts are funded in part by the town’s Parks & Recreation Department and the Shrewsbury High School music department. The Summer Concert Band is directed by Brian Liporto, from Shrewsbury High. For more information about the concert or to join the band, contact Liporto at bliporto@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us.
