Firefighter John King will assume the duties of his new position as captain in the Maynard Fire Department effective Tuesday. King has been with the department since 2006. He is taking over for Patrick Sullivan, whose resignation is effective Monday. Sullivan has been appointed fire chief in Lunenburg.
