The town's water system recently violated a water-drinking standard. Four water samples taken on June 12 tested positive for total coliform bacteria. Eight repeat samples taken June 15 tested negative, as have all subsequent samples; as a result, residents don't need to boil water or take any other corrective actions. As a precaution, the town’s Water Division will continue to chlorinate the water and increase flushing in the affected area.
