The town assessor's office is reporting a minor error in recently issued preliminary property tax bills. Due to an information transfer error between the town and its vendor, the field that indicates the total acreage for each parcel contains an incorrectly placed decimal point. However, the error does not affect the property’s tax amount, as these preliminary bills are based on information gathered the previous year.
