Affordable housing slow to attract interest

The sluggish housing market appears to be even dampening interest in affordable homes in Berlin, where eight units didn’t receive a single application last month, according to L.A. Associates realtor Kristen Costa, who is helping the town find buyers for them. Costa said she advertised a lottery for the Dudley Road condos in early June but got no response. She has since expanded marketing for the two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom units, which are being offered to income-eligible buyers on a first-come, first-served basis, and is getting “a slightly better response,’’ she said.
