Ground-water testing around the General Chemical Corp. hazardous waste site in South Framingham could begin next week, the unofficial start to what will likely be years of monitoring and cleanup, according to state officials. Meanwhile, last month,Framingham residents, concerned about the cleanup, successfully petitioned the state for more access to the process. General Chemical filed a notice of closure for its facility on March 1, after years of complaints from residents and town officials about potential health hazards.
