Eager to preserve waning memories of World War II, a group of residents at Carleton-Willard Village, a retirement community in Bedford, formed a committee to interview their neighbors about wartime participation, and are in the process of turning the interviews into a series of DVDs. A visit by documentary filmmaker Ken Burns this fall gave some extra adrenaline to their efforts to document one another’s roles as soldiers, airmen, nurses, and those left on the home front.
