Offer advice on next schools chief

The School Committee has invited parents to share the qualities they want to see in the district's next superintendent. In a letter to parents signed by chairwoman Debra M. Noschese, the committee said it plans to hire a professional search firm to find a replacement for Superintendent Robert Maguire, who announced last week that he plans to retire at the end of the school year. Maguire, superintendent since 1999, has been with the Medfield district since 1990. Parents can e-mail their list of important attributes to schoolcommittee@medfield.mec.edu.  Residents are also invited to attend two School Committee meetings focused on the selection process. The first, at 7 p.m. Dec. 11, will involve public interviews of consulting firms vying for the search job, and the second, set for 7 p.m. Dec. 17, is when the committee expects to award the contract. Both meetings will be held at Medfield High School, and will be telecast live on Comcast Cable 12 and Verizon Cable 36.
