The Newton Cultural Alliance is collaborating with 40 local businesses and 100 artists and musicians to present its second annual Arts Stroll & Shop from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Newton Centre has been transformed into a vintage Main Street for the event, which encourages residents and visitors to shop, eat, and take in local arts offerings. The stroll, offering holiday shopping, dining, pop-up art galleries, and cultural performances, will feature contributions by several alliance members, including the New Philharmonica Orchestra, Newton Open Studios, Newton Art Association, New Art Center, Cappella Clausura, and Suzuki School of Newton. At 4 p.m., the alliance will present a concert and sing-along at the First Baptist Church, at 48 Beacon St., followed by a “Stroll & Sing” event past luminaries that will be placed throughout the retail district. Maps, schedules, and more information are available in participating stores, on the Arts Stroll & Shop Facebook page, and the alliance’s website, www.newtonculture.org .
