After nearly three hours of debate, Newton aldermen moved the override question out of two committees, paving the way for a full board to vote Monday whether to place it on the ballot in March. This, despite concerns from some aldermen worried that the $11.4 million in proposed tax increases wouldn’t cover the cost of the city’s projects; that recent construction projects had come in far over initial estimates; and that many other needs in the city were neglected.
