The Police Department’s safety division is sponsoring a coat and food collection drive this month. The agency is seeking new or gently used winter coats, gloves, and hats, as well as nonperishable food items and monetary donations. The drive will benefit the Coats for Kids program, the Franklin Food Pantry, and a local veterans organization. Items can be dropped off at the Police Department at 911 Panther Way through Dec. 31. For more information, call Nicole Connors at 508-528-1212, ext. 1525, or e-mail her nconnors@franklinpolice.com, or contact Chris Spillane at 508-528-1212, ext. 2723, or cspillane@franklinpolice.com.
