The School Committee is preparing to vote on the local district’s budget proposal for next fiscal year during its 6:30 p.m. public meeting Wednesday. Superintendent Marianne O’Connor initially recommended a $42.8 million spending plan, representing a 3.67 percent increase over this year. At recent meetings, O’Connor and the committee discussed possible places for cuts and possible sources of additional funding. The committee is encouraging residents to express their reactions to the proposed budget before its vote. The panel will be meeting in Planning Board Room 23 at the Forbes Municipal Building, 45 West Main St.
