Frederick Allen Tingley, a former captain in the town’s Fire Department, passed away Dec. 12 at the age of 80. A lifelong Medway resident, Tingley served on the department for 43 years, and retired as captain in 1998, according to fire officials. He also served on the Council on Aging and as election warden; and was an original member of the town's Christmas Parade Committee, and acted as the parade's grand marshal, among his other contributions to the community. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tingley’s memory can be made to the Medway Firefighters and EMS Association, 44 Milford St., Medway, MA 02053, or to the Tingley Family Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Joseph Church, PO Box 557, Medway, MA 02053.
