One Book to focus on food critic’s tale

At a recent meeting with library trustees, Bedford Free Public Library director Richard Callaghan said “Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise,” by former New York Times restaurant critic and former Gourmet magazine editor Ruth Reichl, will be the town’s next One Book, One Bedford selection. The communitywide event, heading into its 10th season, takes place each spring, and includes book discussions, demonstrations, and other events related to the reading selection. The library has extra copies of the book available for patrons to borrow.
