Town officials are seeking applicants for the post of director of inspectional services. The director will oversee building permit applications, and will also be responsible for supervising inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to make sure structures comply with state and local building codes and local zoning restrictions. The director will also be responsible for preparing department documents; attending occasional public meetings; and working with the public, property owners, and developers to explain building codes, among other responsibilities. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree or master craftsman level of building construction trade knowledge, and seven to 10 years of work experience, preferably in the construction trades, the job posting said.
