Paul Byrne, chairman of the town’s Conservation Commission, will continue to serve in a holdover capacity in the new year after selectmen did not reappoint him to a full term. A motion by Selectman Joseph Durant to reappoint Byrne failed to garner a second during a recent board meeting. Byrne’s most recent full term ended in 2010, and since then selectmen have not formally approved a new term for him. Selectmen did reappoint 14 members of town boards and committees.
