Looking for a year-end donation? A group of longtime supporters of the Medfield Animal Shelter has once again offered to match every dollar that is donated to the nonprofit facility through Jan. 15, up to a cap of $20,000. The tax-deductible donation can be sent to the Medfield Animal Shelter, PO Box 271, Medfield, MA 02052, and should include a note that it is in conjunction with the Matching Challenge Grant. Donations can also be made online at, where visitors can see the pets waiting for homes in the New Year. The donations cover the cost of spaying or neutering every dog, cat, and rabbit placed by the shelter, and allow the facility to bring in pets, on a space-available basis, from other shelters across the state that would otherwise have euthanized the animals. The shelter is off of West Street at 101 Old Bridge St. If you plan to visit, call first, because holiday hours vary. The phone number is 508-359-8989.
