The School Committee has arranged for some professional help in its search for a new superintendent to lead the local district. At its Dec. 11 meeting, the committee tapped Future Management Systems of Beverly to conduct the search. Among the services provided for its $19,500 fee, Future Management Services is training the School Committee on how to conduct interviews with the final candidates it will be providing through its search process. Once the training is completed, the superintendent's position will be advertised. In other searches for similar positions, Future Management has held public hearings for parents to offer their opinions on search criteria, and used online surveys and other tools to help narrow the candidate field. The firm is also conducting searches for school superintendents in Ipswich and in East Hampton, Conn. Medfield’s incumbent superintendent, Robert C. Maguire, is stepping down in June after 22 years in the school district, including 13 years as its top administrator.
