The Police Department and the town’s Recreation Commission have joined forces to host free recreation sessions for local youths on Saturday nights through Feb. 2. Open to ages 8 through 15, the program offers basketball, floor hockey and dodge ball games from 6 to 9 p.m. at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, 65 Pleasant St. There is no fee and preregistration is not required; however, participants must have an injury-waiver form signed by a parent or guardian. The forms are available at the door or can be downloaded in advance from a link on the town’s website, www.uptonma.gov. The program is also looking for adult volunteers to help out. To volunteer or to get more information, e-mail Police Chief Michael J. Bradley at michael.bradley@uptonpolice.org, or Officer Carl Ambrosino at cambrosino@uptonpolice.org.
