Free event to honor King legacy

Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley will serve as the keynote speaker in Brookline’s celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 21. Brookline High School teacher Malcolm Cawthorne will be the master of ceremonies at the celebration, which will be held in the Coolidge Corner Theatre at 2:30 p.m. The free event will include performances by the Yiddish Community Chorus of Boston Workmen’s Circle, and the Baker School Jazz Band, directed by Bo Winiker.
