Hearing on Monroe Street demolition plan

The town’s Historical Commission is holding a public hearing Wednesday night to discuss the proposed demolition of the structure at 9/9A Monroe St. Because the property is more than 100 years old, town bylaws require a hearing within 30 days of notification of someone applying for a demolition permit. The purpose of the hearing is to collect information regarding the potential historical or architectural significance of the building, which was built in 1866 and is zoned for commercial use. The hearing begins at 7 p.m. in Conference Room C at Town Hall, 63 Main St.
