Local senior citizens have two opportunities this week to learn more about their Medicare and Medicaid options. On Monday, representatives from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts will visit the Council on Aging offices, 12 Mudge Way, at 1 p.m.  for a brief presentation on how Medigap and Medicare Advantage plans work with Medicare, as well as changes to benefits this year. Plan information will be available for individual plans (nongroup), Medex, Blue MedicareRx, Medicare HMO Blue, and Medicare PPO Blue. At 1 p.m. Wednesday, lawyer Dale Tamburro will be at the council’s offices to present “Taking Control of Your Future: Medicaid Asset Protection,” a discussion that will cover Medicaid rules, exempt assets, and the various benefits that can help protect seniors from losing their assets. Both events are free, but call to reserve space at 781-275-6825.
