Six-week skating class starts Friday

Forget asking your older brother — the Shrewsbury Youth Hockey Association is offering two six-week sessions on how to skate. The first session begins Friday and runs on successive Fridays through Feb 22. The next session begins March 1. The program uses professional instructors to teach skating to children 4 to 17 years old. There will be no hockey instruction. The 50-minute sessions will begin at 6 p.m. at Buffone Arena, on Lake Avenue in Worcester. There is room for 50 skaters in each six-week session; the fee is $110, plus a registration fee of $15 to cover insurance and USA Hockey fees. Helmets and skates are required for the program.  Call Steve Forget at 774-249-4392 or e-mail him at sforget@syha.net for more information. Registration can be completed online at www.syha.net.
