Elizabeth Williams recently was appointed to the town’s Community Preservation Committee to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Steven Rowse last fall.  The committee reviews applications for grants from the town’s Community Preservation Act program, which uses a property tax surcharge and state matching funds to support local recreation, affordable housing, open space and historical preservation efforts, and makes recommendations to Town Meeting on which projects to approve. Williams, a former member of the Friends of Harvard Library,  is a paralegal dealing with real estate issues.
