Elizabeth Williams recently was appointed to the town’s Community Preservation Committee to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Steven Rowse last fall.  The committee reviews applications for grants from the town’s Community Preservation Act program, which uses a property tax surcharge and state matching funds to support local recreation, affordable housing, open space and historical preservation efforts, and makes recommendations to Town Meeting on which projects to approve.
