Roll up your sleeves and keep that resolution to make a difference and have fun too. The Trustees of Reservations is holding a work session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the bridge on the Echo Pond Trail in Rocky Woods, with its entrance on Hartford Street. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Go to the conservation organization’s website, www.thetrustees.org, and click on the Things to Do link to volunteer. The 491-acre Rocky Woods preserve includes footpaths following former logging roads that meander through woods and wetlands and to the top of 435-foot Cedar Hill. At adjacent Fork Factory Brook, a trail network crosses hay fields and wooded uplands in a 135-acre landscape that once supported both farms and mills. The half-mile Echo Pond Trail, with its long, narrow footbridge, loops around the pond. Call 508-785-0339 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
