Plans to make improvements on Main Street downtown from Ash to Wood streets will be presented at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting Tuesday starting at 6 p.m. in Room 215 at Town Hall. The 25 Percent Design of Main Street Project, recommended by the Downtown Initiative Steering Committee, is ready for submission to the state Department of Transportation, and includes aesthetic improvements, roadway realignment, sidewalks, onstreet parking, bicycle lanes, and changes to major intersections. The presentation, which was also made to the public at a meeting last Thursday morning, will outline key elements of the plan and detail the process moving forward through the final design and eventual construction, according to a press release from Town Engineer David T. Daltorio.
