Neighborhood groups will be meeting with economic development officials in the town next week to discuss the vibrancy of local commercial areas. The first joint meeting of the Brookline Neighborhood Alliance and the Economic Development Advisory Board will be held in Town Hall on Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. in room 103. The meeting will discuss the top employers in Brookline, the number of first-floor storefronts, and the percentage of businesses in Brookline that are independently owned. The board will be discussing its ongoing study on vibrancy in local commercial areas, and will be listening to ideas about enhancing the vitality of the areas.
