The Acton Memorial Library is looking for Acton residents interested in running for a seat on its board of trustees. The board deals with such subjects as policy formulation, long-range planning, promoting resources, and use of state library aid. The Acton Memorial Library was founded in 1890 as a memorial to the veterans of the Civil War. There are over 170,000 items in its collection, and in 2012 the library circulated over 632,000 items. Interested residents should obtain nominating papers from the town clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Feb. 1. The town election is March 26. For more information, contact Joseph Glannon, board president, at 978-263-2823, or library director Marcia Rich at 978-929-6531.
