The Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, in cooperation with other area regional schools, will host a free college financial aid workshop today at 1 p.m. on the Valley Tech campus, 65 Pleasant St. The workshop will focus on completing the free application for federal student aid. It is open to any prospective college students and their families. Students need to registers at www.FAFSADay.org. Any student seeking assistance needs to submit the federal application form to apply for federal, state, and institutional financial aid. The workshop at Valley Tech will have experts from the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority on hand to answer questions. Students and their families will have free computer access for online application filing at the workshop. A Spanish translator also will be available. Students and parents (if the student was born on or after Jan. 1, 1990) should bring their FAFSA PIN from www.pin.ed.gov, their Social Security numbers, their driver’s license numbers, their most recent federal tax returns, their most recent W-2 or year-end pay stub, records of untaxed income, their bank statements, any business and investment records, and their Alien Registration Card, if they are not US citizens.
