Tomorrow last day to join schools Superintendent Search Committee

The search process to replace longtime Medfield Schools Superintendent Robert C. Maguire is underway and tomorrow is the deadline to volunteer as a Medfield residents’ representative on the Superintendent Search Committee. Maguire  is stepping down in June after 22 years in the Medfield public schools.  He has been superintendent for the past 13 years. The resident representative will help the School Committee review all candidate applications, select those to be interviewed, and help finalize the recommendations to the School Committee for the new hire. Volunteers must promise to attend all meetings of the search committee during the three- to four-week selection process, a 40- to 50-hour process overall.  The meetings will be scheduled during weekday late afternoons, beginning Feb 23.  The final candidate recommendation deadline is March 18. The two-page online application asks volunteers to describe their reasons for volunteering, their length of residency in the town,  if they have children in the schools, and the work or other experience that may set them apart as an asset to the selection process. The School Committee will appoint the residents’ representative from among those who volunteer and will notify volunteers before the Feb. 28 meeting. The application for volunteers is available at www.medfield.net and must be received by e-mail or other delivery by tomorrow.  The e-mail address is kleader@medfield.mec.edu. Those who want to submit a printed application are asked to send it to Debra Nochese, Chair, School Committee, Medfield Public Schools, 459 Main St., Third floor, Medfield, MA 02052.
