Learn how to paint flowers like O’Keeffe

Upton Town Library will host artist Gregory John Maichack conducting a workshop, “The Art of Georgia O’Keeffe: How to Paint Pastel Flowers,” Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 114 of Memorial Elementary School.  The workshop, funded by the town’s Cultural Council, will focus on O’Keeffe’s life and painting methods. Maichack, whose works have been in many national juried shows, will demonstrate how to use pastels, with participants following along to start their own painting in O’Keeffe’s style. All materials, including professional-grade paper and hundreds of pastels, will be provided. The free session is for adult artists from beginner to advanced. Seats may fill quickly, organizers said; call 508-529-6272  or visit the Upton Town Library to preregister.
