Birding, hiking expeditions at Stony Brook

Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary is holding a pair of Presidents’ Day programs on Feb. 18. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a birding expedition, led by naturalist Jack Lash at several locations in Rhode Island, with a carpool running from Stony Brook. The cost is $48, or $38 for Massachusetts Audubon Society members. Sanctuary staff will also lead a hike along the sanctuary's trails from 9 to 10:30 a.m., ending in the nature center with warm drinks . The fee is $5, or $3 for members. Registration is required for both programs. Call 508-528-3140, or visit Stony Brook’s page at the society’s website, www.massaudubon.org .
