The Board of Health will hold a hearing Tuesday to discuss newly proposed restrictions on smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products in town. The new regulations would ban smoking on school and town properties, including the library, senior center, police station, fire station, Town Hall, and the Department of Public Works garage. Currently, smoking is allowed outside the buildings. Other proposed changes include stricter penalties for local businesses found selling tobacco products to minors. To view the revised Smoking Rules and Regulations document, visit the Health Department’s page on the municipal website, www.town.northborough.ma.us. The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall, 63 Main St.
