Fresh Water Farm to sell beer and wine

Fresh Water Farm on Hayden Rowe Street expects to start selling beer and wine at its market as soon as it gets final approval from the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, based on the Board of Selectmen’s recent vote granting it a wine and malt liquor license. Owner Jeff Barton said he anticipates offering beer from Massachusetts microbreweries and a selection of wines in about a month. The Board of Selectmen approved the offsite-consumption license by a 3-2 vote on Feb. 5. Michael Gates, Brian J. Herr,  and Todd Cestari voted in favor of granting the license, with Benjamin J. Palleiko and John M. Mosher opposing.
