Eighth-graders explore legislative proceedings

Eighth-grade social studies classes at Hale Middle School are learning the ins and outs of federal government via a series of mock Senate and House of Representatives committee hearings. Students will author bills and elect committee leaders. In future classes, they will explore the executive branch of the nation through similar mock proceedings.
