A life-size bronze statue of Dick and Rick Hoyt will be unveiled April 8 at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Center Elementary School, near the starting point of the Boston Marathon. Dick Hoyt, who has pushed his son in his wheelchair in more than 1,000 races — including 30 editions of the Marathon — will be recognized at the start of the annual race on April 15. The statue by Texas artist Mike Tabor was commissioned by Boston Marathon sponsor John Hancock. The area behind the school is where the wheelchair athletes gather before the race each year. A scale model of the statue has been on display at the Hopkinton Public Library.
