Giant puppets and a tai chi demonstration will be showcased at the first Brookline Village Health and Wellness Fair, taking place Saturday to coincide with National Public Health Week events scheduled by the town. More than 20 health and wellness practitioners and teachers from Brookline Village are hosting the free fair at Town Hall from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The fair will feature giant puppets from the Puppet Showplace Theatre, as well as information about healthy eating, and acupuncture and yoga demonstrations. Other health week events include a workshop at Brookline High School at 7 p.m. Tuesday that will focus on teen mental health and depression awareness. The workshop is open to parents with children in fifth to 12th grades. On Thursday, the Health Department will offer free workshops to landlords, property managers, and condo trustees about how to make residential properties smoke-free. The slate of activities will conclude next Sunday with a town-sponsored forum featuring developers and owners discussing the opportunities and challenges of creating senior housing. The free event will be held at 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn at 1200 Beacon St.
