Help with citywide cleanup Saturday

The city will host its annual community cleanup event Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, and is seeking volunteers to join other residents, shopkeepers, students, service organizations, and Boy and Girl Scouts picking up litter, trash, and other debris from the city’s downtown area, parks, and neighborhoods. The Consolidated Public Works Department will provide some cleanup equipment, but also asks volunteers to bring their own if they can. The rain date for the event is next Sunday. For more information about the cleanup, call Stewart LaCrosse Jr., the department’s assistant director, at 781-314-3800.
