The town’s Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for college financial assistance until May 3 from local graduating high school seniors. The grants are typically $500 or $1,000, and will go toward the fall semester this year. The committee seeks applicants who demonstrate scholastic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities and community service, and good character, and who will be attending a two-year or four-year accredited institution. Applicants must be residents of Groton but may attend any public or independent high school. Applications are available at the town clerk’s office, high school guidance offices, and the town’s website, www.townofgroton.org.
