The ninth annual spring cleanup of the trails and shoreline at Lake Whitehall will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The event, sponsored by the nonprofit Friends of Whitehall, is held to pick up the trash and debris that may have accumulated during the winter. Volunteers will meet at the boat landing at Whitehall State Park on Wood Street (Route 135) in the town’s Woodville section. Insect repellent, gloves, trash bags, tools, water, and refreshments will be provided. Friends of Whitehall started in 2005 to “preserve, protect and improve” the lake and its surroundings. For more information about the organization or the cleanup, visit its website, www.friendsofwhitehall.org, or Facebook page.
