Board to set stage for vote on project

The Planning Board will hold a public hearing in Town Hall at 7 p.m. May 8 to continue discussions about a proposed multiuse development at 129 Parker St. The Shoppes at Maynard Crossing is planned for around 700,000 square feet of development, including retail space and 250 apartment units. Voters at Special Town Meeting, which convenes on May 19, will be asked to decide on a land rezoning proposal required by the project and approve its “concept plan.’’ Planning Board chairman Max Lamson said the May 8 hearing may be the last time his board discusses the project before the vote. Details about the proposed development have been posted online at www.townofmaynard-ma.gov.
